1.What LUMO is (and isn’t)

LUMO is a marketplace app operated by 13 LUE LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“LUMO,” “we,” “us”). It connects people who want photography (“clients”) with independent professional photographers, and provides booking, payment, messaging, and photo-delivery tools around that connection.

Photographers on LUMO are independent contractors. They are not LUMO employees, agents, or partners. Photographers set their own services, pricing, availability, and creative approach. The photography services contract for any booking is between the client and the photographer; LUMO is the platform that facilitates it, not a party performing the shoot.

By creating an account or using LUMO, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use LUMO.

2.Accounts & eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account.
  • Give us accurate information — your real name, a working email, and (for photographers) a portfolio that is genuinely your own work.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us right away at support@lumoapp.info if you think someone else has access.
  • Photographer accounts are subject to review and approval before they appear in search (see Section 7).

3.Booking & payments

How money moves (card bookings): when you request a booking paid by card, your card is authorized (a hold) for the total. You are only charged if the photographer accepts. If they decline, or the request expires, the hold is released — you pay nothing.
  • At checkout you see the service price, any add-ons you selected, the LUMO platform fee, and any tip — all itemized before you confirm. The total shown at checkout is the total that can be charged.
  • Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on LUMO’s servers. By paying through LUMO you also agree to Stripe’s applicable terms.
  • A booking is confirmed only when the photographer accepts it in the app. Until then it is a request, and on a card booking the amount is only a hold.
  • Card booking requests that are never accepted expire, and the hold is released. A card request whose payment was not completed cannot be accepted.
  • Cash at the session. Some photographers choose to accept cash. Where a photographer has enabled it in the app, you may select cash at checkout: you pay the photographer for the shoot in cash at the session, and only LUMO’s service fee is charged to your card (a hold at checkout, captured when the photographer confirms). The booking itself still goes through LUMO — request, acceptance, record, and delivery all stay in the app (see Sections 4, 11, and 12 for how cash bookings differ).
  • Prices are set by photographers. LUMO’s platform fee is currently a percentage of the service subtotal (with a minimum and maximum), itemized at checkout as the “Service Fee” before you confirm; it is never charged on tips. The fee may change over time, and a change never applies retroactively to a booking you’ve already paid for. Founding-photographer bookings may carry a reduced or waived fee during their launch window. On cash bookings the platform service fee is charged to the client’s payment card; unpaid fees accrue as a balance owed to LUMO.

4.Cancellations & refunds

  • If a photographer declines your request (or doesn’t respond and it expires), the hold on your card is released in full. You are not charged.
  • You may cancel a confirmed booking any time before the session date for a full refund of the amount charged, including the platform fee and any tip.
  • Need to move a session instead of cancelling? Either side can propose a new date and time in the app; the booking simply moves once the other side accepts. Rescheduling is free.
  • On or after the session date, in-app cancellation is no longer available — the photographer may have already done the work. Contact support and we’ll review it under the dispute process below.
  • If a confirmed booking is cancelled by the photographer, or through LUMO support, you receive a full refund including the platform fee and any tip.
  • Bookings that start from an accepted quote follow these same rules once paid.
  • Refund timing on your statement depends on your bank, typically 5–10 business days after the refund is issued.
  • If a photographer fails to show up for a confirmed booking, contact support — a booking paid by card will be refunded in full, and repeated no-shows are grounds for removing a photographer from the platform.
  • Cash bookings work differently. For cash bookings, the cash payment to the photographer is arranged directly between you and the photographer at the session; LUMO does not hold, guarantee, or refund it. LUMO’s platform service fee is charged to your card: a hold is placed at checkout and captured when the photographer confirms. If that charge cannot be completed, the fee becomes a balance owed to LUMO that you must pay before making new bookings. Either party may cancel a cash booking in the app before the session date at no cost; a fee hold placed before the photographer confirmed is released, and a fee already captured is refunded.

5.Tips

Tips are optional and always appreciated. 100% of every tip goes to the photographer. LUMO does not take a platform fee on tips. If a booking is refunded, the tip is refunded with it.

6.Reviews & ratings

  • Reviews are tied to completed bookings — you can only review a photographer you actually booked through LUMO, and each booking supports one review. No drive-by reviews, no fakes.
  • Client reviews of photographers are public on the photographer’s profile.
  • Photographers may privately rate clients after a booking; these ratings are not published on a public profile.
  • Keep reviews honest and about the actual experience. We may remove reviews that contain harassment, hate, personal data, spam, or content unrelated to the booking — we do not remove reviews merely for being negative.

7.Photographer terms

  • Independent contractor status. You work for yourself. Nothing in these terms creates employment, agency, or partnership between you and LUMO. You are responsible for your own equipment, insurance, taxes, permits, and legal compliance.
  • Approval. New photographer accounts are reviewed before appearing in search. LUMO may approve, decline, or later remove a photographer at its discretion — including for quality issues, policy violations, no-shows, or misrepresented portfolios.
  • Payouts. Photographer earnings from card bookings are paid out through Stripe Connect. To receive payouts you must complete Stripe’s onboarding, including the identity verification Stripe requires.
  • Cash at the session (optional). You may enable accepting cash in the app. On a cash booking LUMO pays out nothing for the shoot — the client pays you directly at the session, and you are responsible for collecting it. All cash bookings must still be requested and confirmed through LUMO. LUMO’s platform service fee on cash bookings is charged to the client’s payment card, not deducted from your payout.
  • Deliver what you list. Your service listings, pricing, and portfolio must be accurate and your own work. Show up to confirmed bookings and deliver galleries as promised. Declining a request is always your right; abandoning a confirmed booking is not.
  • Timely Photo Delivery Policy. Every service you list carries a delivery turnaround you choose (same-day, 24–48 hours, 3–5 business days, or 7–14 business days). When you mark a shoot completed, that turnaround becomes a delivery deadline, counted in business days, that both you and the client can see. Deliver the finished gallery through LUMO by that deadline. If you need more time, request an extension in the app before the deadline — it takes effect only if the client approves. Late deliveries are recorded on your account and affect how you rank in search; repeated late deliveries are reviewed by LUMO and may lead to restrictions or removal (Section 15). Delivered galleries remain available to the client in the app for 15 days, after which the photos are removed from LUMO’s storage — clients are reminded to download them, and you should keep your own originals.
  • Your clients, your contract. The photography services agreement for a shoot — usage rights, deliverable counts, editing scope — is between you and the client. Put anything important in writing in the booking chat.

8.Content & who owns what

  • Photographers own their work. Copyright in photos stays with the photographer who created them, unless the photographer and client agree otherwise between themselves.
  • Clients get the usage the photographer grants. When a gallery is delivered through LUMO, the client’s right to use those photos is defined by their agreement with the photographer (commonly personal use; commercial use should be agreed explicitly).
  • Your license to LUMO. By uploading content (portfolio images, profile photos, reviews), you grant LUMO a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and reproduce it as needed to operate and promote the platform — for example, showing your portfolio in search results. This license ends for content you delete, except where it has already been shared with a booking counterpart (delivered galleries) or where we must retain it by law.
  • Only upload what’s yours. Don’t upload content you don’t have the rights to, and honor any commitments you’ve made to people appearing in your photos.

9.Prohibited conduct

Don’t use LUMO to:

  • Break the law, or arrange anything illegal.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
  • Misrepresent who you are, present someone else’s work as your own, or post fake reviews.
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, or sexually exploitative content, or any content involving minors inappropriately.
  • Scrape the platform, probe or interfere with its security, or access data that isn’t yours.
  • Use bookings, payouts, or refunds for fraud or money laundering.
  • Spam other users or use the messaging system for anything other than legitimate booking communication.

Violations can lead to content removal, suspension, or termination (Section 15), and where warranted, referral to law enforcement.

10.Community guidelines

Messages and uploaded images on LUMO are checked against these guidelines: a message that violates them cannot be sent, and an image that violates them is removed. The following is prohibited anywhere on LUMO — messages, portfolios, profile photos, and delivered galleries:

  • Sexually explicit content or solicitation of sexual services — and, without exception, any sexual content involving minors, which we report to the authorities.
  • Harassment and threats — bullying, intimidation, or threats of violence against any person.
  • Hate speech — slurs or attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected traits.
  • Abusive language directed at another person.
  • Illegal activity — soliciting or arranging illegal goods, services, or acts.
  • Scams and spam — phishing, fraud attempts, and bulk unsolicited messages. Ordinary payment conversation (prices, deposits, tips, paying cash at the session) is always fine.

To keep bookings and payments protected (Section 11), contact exchange before a confirmed booking may be restricted — messages that share phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, or links before a booking is confirmed may not be delivered.

Repeated violations escalate: a review by our team, temporary messaging restrictions, and ultimately suspension or termination (Section 15). If someone sends you something that worries you, contact support@lumoapp.info.

11.Keeping bookings on LUMO

All bookings that start on LUMO must be made and confirmed through LUMO. Card payments for those bookings are processed through LUMO; paying cash at the session is permitted only where the photographer has enabled it in the app, and only for a booking requested and confirmed in the app. Please don’t arrange bookings or payments outside the app for a relationship that started on LUMO — off-platform arrangements remain prohibited: they remove the protection both sides get on card bookings (the hold-until-accept model and refunds) and the booking record every LUMO booking keeps, and it’s how the platform stays free to list on. Repeated circumvention is grounds for account removal. What photographers and clients do in fully independent relationships that never touched LUMO is, of course, their own business.

12.Problems with a booking

If something goes wrong with a booking — a no-show, an undelivered gallery, a quality dispute — contact the other person through in-app messaging first; most issues resolve there. If that fails, contact LUMO support. We’ll review the booking record, messages, and payment history and work toward a fair outcome, which on a card booking may include a refund. LUMO is not a party to cash transactions and does not hold or move cash — for a cash booking, LUMO provides the booking record only. LUMO is not a party to the photography services contract and can’t guarantee any particular artistic result, but we take marketplace integrity seriously and will act on it.

13.Disclaimers & limits on liability

Plain-language version first: we work hard to make LUMO reliable and to vet photographers, but we can’t guarantee a photographer’s work, and software sometimes breaks. Here’s the legal version:

  • LUMO is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Photographers are independent contractors; LUMO does not supervise their work and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of the services they provide, though we do review photographers before approval and act on reports.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, 13 LUE LLC’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to LUMO is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid through LUMO in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits.
  • Some states don’t allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits; where that’s the case, these apply only as far as that law allows.

14.Disputes with LUMO

If you have a problem with us, tell us first: email support@lumoapp.info with a description of the issue and what you think would make it right. We commit to trying in good faith to resolve it informally within 30 days — most issues never need to go further.

If we can’t resolve it informally, you and LUMO agree that the dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in Dallas County, Texas (or, at your option, in small claims court if the claim qualifies), rather than in a court of general jurisdiction. Arbitration means a neutral arbitrator decides the dispute instead of a judge or jury, and appeal rights are limited. Both sides waive the right to bring or participate in a class action. Either party may also seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual-property infringement or unauthorized access to the service.

You can opt out of this arbitration provision by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these terms with the subject line “Arbitration opt-out”; opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.

15.Suspension & termination

  • You can stop using LUMO at any time and delete your account in-app. Deletion behavior — including what transaction history is retained anonymized — is described in our Privacy Policy.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk for other users, or abuse the platform. Where the situation reasonably allows it, we’ll tell you why.
  • Confirmed bookings affected by an account termination are handled under Section 4 — clients are made whole.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses already exercised, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute resolution) survive it.

16.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the arbitration provision in Section 14, any court proceedings will take place in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas.

17.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as LUMO evolves. For material changes we’ll give you advance notice in the app or by email, and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Changes never apply retroactively to bookings already paid for. If you keep using LUMO after a change takes effect, that’s acceptance of the updated terms; if you don’t agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
